Special Call Sign VY9CC for Emergency HQ HF Station

The two photos below show the antenna for the Emergency HF Station VY9CC at Industry Canada Headquarters in Ottawa in 2004. I am on the left in the first photo. Michel Milot is on the right. The photo was taken shortly after we removed the old dangerous tower structure and got the new one installed with a new rotator and log periodic. You can also see an ExpressVu dish I installed near the base of the VY9CC antenna where Michel and I are standing.  We were trying to set up a regional HF network just before Joe Rosso retired, but we weren’t allowed to install an inverted “V” because of the dangers of wires. Scroll down to view the VY9CC QSL Card.
