John Madden has returned from a one year leave of absence at Simon Fraser University. He is now coordinator, new home and business services R & D in the research sector... R.E. Barrington was appointed director general, radio and radar research at CRC... W.A. McCrum, formerly of the technology and system R & D branch, has been appointed recently as director, development and engineering at GTA... Information officer Diana Trafford returned to DOC after a two-year educational leave at Carleton's Canadian Studies program... Grace Brickell, formerly of the Department of Finance, joined DIS as Modulation editor.

Atlantic Region: Marie Gosse of the St. John's, Newfoundland office has retired... Former Atlantic region chief, finance services, Doug Maloney has moved to Transport Canada in Ottawa.

Quebec Region: Robert Gervais has left on an eight-month study leave. He was chief GTA in the region... André Legris has joined the regional office as an ENG-4 in the technical section... Bernard Boily who was an inspector at the Chicoutimi office is now district manager of the new Rimouski office... Jean-Claude Morneau and Jacques Pageau joined Mr. Boily as district inspectors in the new office.

Ontario Region: Gin Jang is now an engineer with GTA in Ottawa. He was formerly systems development officer with GTA in Toronto... Bob Lucas is currently handling these duties... Tony Fodero, previously an inspector with the Toronto district office, is now a land/mobile technologist in the authorization section of the regional office... Dan O'Connell has been appointed as spectrum management systems technologist in the authorization section of the regional office. He was previously with the Hamilton office... Mary Lucik is now EOW coordinator for the region. You can reach her at 966-6315... Steve Molnar has left the regional office to become a major systems specialist at the Toronto office. He will be responsible for coordinating the licencing process of certain province­wide systems. Radio inspector Jack Holt recently joined the Toronto district staff.

Central Region: E.R. Shea, manager of operations for the region, has retired... I.E. Williams, formerly superintendant of licensing, replaces Mr. Shea... Yvette Creft, information analyst in the region resource centre has left DOC and moved to Regina... Keith R. MacMillan, district manager in Saskatoon, retired in September after more than 35 years of public service... Computer systems analyst Jim Thrower has left DOC and moved to Edmonton... His successor is Don Gillis.

Pacific Region: Gary Peters, district manager of the Prince George office, resigned in September to start his own business... Jim Purves has joined the Department as a computer programmer in the regional office... John Katan has been appointed as a radio inspector with the Prince George district office... Modulation regrets an error in our May Comings and Goings... Guy Paquin, not Ken Talbot, is now an engineer in the Pacific regional office. Mr. Talbot, formerly a radio inspector in the Vancouver district office, has been appointed supervising inspector in the Prince Rupert district office.

Jim Thompson, analyste de systèmes informatiques, a quitté le ministère et habite maintenant à Edmonton... C'est Don Gillis qui le remplace.

Talbot, auparavant inspecteur radio au bureau de district de Vancouver, a été nommé inspecteur surveillant du bureau de district de Prince-Rupert.

René Beaudry, formerly of Translation Services at DOC, is now working in the Technical Services section at the Secretary of State... Denise Belisle replaces Michel Charbonneau as the new Director of Legal Services... Dr. Martin Foumier is the new Director General, Technology and Systems Research and Development... He was the Director General of Radio and Radar Research and Development... Dr. Ron Barrington is the Acting Director General of the latter post... Dr. Ted Hartz has been appointed Deputy Director General, Radio and Radar Research and Development.

Pacific Region: Ken Talbot, a radio inspector in the Vancouver district office, now is an engineer in the regional office... Computer services planning officer Knox Moy has left to join the B.C. Computer Corp... Linda Groves has left the regional office after winning a staffing officer competition with the RCMP in Victoria.

Ontario Region: Neil Neft, Communications Research Officer, joined the department's socio-economic section... Neil was previously with Revenue Canada, Taxation... Mohamed Elkharadly, previously with a Toronto cable company, is now one of the region's CATV engineering specialists... Helen Lambert has joined GTA as an operations officer. Mrs. Lambert was communications manager for Harbour Castle Hotel, Toronto... Sergio Bertuzzo, radio inspector from the Toronto district office, has joined the Regional Office... Michael Connolly, a radio inspector, has moved from the Toronto district office to the region's enforcement section... John Milnes has been promoted to safety and special services technologist, within the regional authorization section... Charlotte Perrenoud has been appointed telecommunications systems consultant. She was a systems operations officer... Frank Kennedy has transferred to the Applications Consulting Group, GTA, from Systems Consulting.
