The
federal Department of
Communications
opened a new district office in
Cranbrook, B.C.,
in August. The
office will administer the Radio Act and regulations
and provide radio station licensing, inspection and investigation of
radio interference in the East Kootenay area of B.C.
Manager of the new office, located at 11-14th Avenue South, is G. G.
(Gerry) Jorgenson, a senior inspector from the
Prince George
district office. Telephone

The
area to be served by the Cranbrook
office is bounded on the south by the
international border, on the east by the Alberta
border, on the
west by the Arrow Lakes and the
118th meridian to its
intersection with the U.S. border and the
B.C.-Alberta border.
Until
now this area has been
serviced by the Kelowna district office but growth
of resource and secondary industries,
both heavy users of radio
communications, has made the new office
necessary. |
Le ministère des Communications a ouvert un bureau de district à Cranbrook.(Colombie-Britannique),
au mois d'août dernier. Il remplira pour le territoire de Kootenay
East
les fonctions relatives à la Loi sur la radio, à la
réglementation, aux licences, à l'inspection et aux
recherches sur les sources de perturbations.
La direction du nouveau bureau,
situé au numéro 11 de la
14e

La frontière canado-américaine au sud, la frontière albertaine à l'est, les lacs
Arrow
et le
118e
méridien entre les États-Unis et l'Alberta à l'ouest, délimitent
le nouveau district.
Jusqu'ici la région appartenait au district de Kelowna, mais la croissance des industries primaires et secondaires, grandes utilisatrices des radiocommunications,
a rendu nécessaire la création du nouveau bureau. |
