Bob Oxner was successful in recruiting me from the Department of Communications at the end of 1979. I left my position as Radio Inspector in the Sydney District office of the DOC to become the Associate-Director, Atlantic Region for the CRTC in Halifax. ( see announcement ). I became Bob's right hand man and I really enjoyed working for him. Bob had passion for his job and he was Mr. CRTC in the four Atlantic provinces. He was a man of principle who could be trusted. The cable operators and broadcasters I met during my tours of the Atlantic Region had only praise for Bob. As soon as they knew I work with Bob, I was immediately welcome on their premises. I have good memories of the two years I worked with Bob before continuing on to new challenges. I didn't know until recently that he had passed away in 2010 and it was quite a shock to find his obituary. My condolences go out to his family.
