September 11, 2012
Good afternoon, all.
It is with mixed emotions that I must announce
the retirement of our friend and colleague, Mr. Bakhos Hanna.
Bakhos began his career for the former Department
of Communications in Kitchener in 1981 as an EL recruit, moving to Hamilton in
1985 and then to London in 1988, where he has established himself as a pillar of
the London District Office, and later the greater Central and Western Ontario
District Office.
I consider myself lucky to have had the
opportunity to work with Bakhos - he has always been available to help a fellow
colleague, and has provided training for a host of Spectrum Management staff
over the years, whether through on-the-job training, or as a lead instructor in
the Department's National Designated Instructor (NDI) program. His ability to
deal with difficult situations is unrivalled.
Bakhos' hard work, commitment to spectrum
management, and residential construction tips will be sorely missed in our
office.
A retirement luncheon date has not yet been set,
but one will be provided in the near future. In the meantime, please join me in
congratulating Bakhos on his career, and on wishing him well for his upcoming
retirement.

Lou Battiston

October 10, 2012
Good afternoon, everyone.
After a long and distinguished career of almost 31 years,
Mr. Bakhos Hanna has announced that he will be retiring from Industry Canada's
Central and Western Ontario District Office. Bakhos' last day in the office
will be October 31, 2012.
Bakhos began his career for the former
Department of Communications in Kitchener in 1981 as an EL recruit, moving to
Hamilton in 1985 and then to London in 1988, where he has established himself as
a pillar of the then London District Office, and later the greater Central and
Western Ontario District Office.
Bakhos has always been available to help a fellow colleague,
and has provided training for a host of Spectrum Management staff over the
years, whether through on-the-job training, or as a lead instructor in the
Department's National Designated Instructor (NDI) program. His ability to deal
with difficult situations is unrivalled and his hard work and commitment to
spectrum management will be sorely missed.
You are cordially invited to Bakhos' retirement luncheon,
which is scheduled for October 24, 2012.
I apologize if I have missed anyone from the e-mail, so
feel free to forward this message to those who know Bakhos and would like to
help in the celebration of his retirement.
Regards,
Lou Battiston

My dearest colleagues and friends,
I want to thank you for your continued
support in these past 31 years of employment with Industry Canada.
Your best
wishes and generosity is heartfelt. I leave work today, my last day with the
comfort of leaving behind fine people serving the government. It has been a
sincere pleasure and honour to have worked with you.
I hope that we continue to
cross paths (Maybe I’ll bring you a shawarma every now and then!) and I wish you
all peace, good health and happiness always!
Best regards
Bakhos Hanna

Above is another
photo of Mr. Hanna, which shows him "in action" during the G8/G20 event held
in Huntsville and Toronto in June, 2010 in front of our interference vehicle.
I was lucky to be partnered with Mr. Hanna during that event.
